Our Housing Program

Our housing program for the most deserving and needy people in the community where we work, especially the patients who we work with, is a boon to cover one of their basic needs. Leprosy has been treated as stigma in the society and hence they have been treated as outcaste to live in the outskirts. In order to support them, two housing colonies were built each with 50 houses one at Peddapendial and another at Anandanagar, Hanamkonda for the leprosy patients. Every year around 10 houses have been constructed for the patients in the project area in all the sub- centres. On 9thOctober 2020, two newly built houses were inaugurated and presented to the two poor families. Those two houses were sponsored by GAAG group from Legnano, Italy.

On 29th July 2021, two new houses were completed and presented to families as under:

Mr. Kanakam Raju, a T.B Patient, has been living in a temporary house made of palm tree leaves for long time. He has a small piece of land and requested SPWS to construct a house. Our Board members sanctioned funds to construct a house for his family. He thanked our board members, the team, and Donors, GAAG from Italy.

Mr. Taj Pasha and his children have been living in a small, rented house with no basic facilities. His wife died of TB. He found it very difficult to pay the rent and provide the children with education and daily needs. He met the Board members and requested to build a house. The board approved the same. The family thanked the Donors and the board for this help.

On 18th November 2021, two new houses were constructed and presented to two families, as below:
